I believe that in the future, software will become disposable and businesses will just build their internal tooling instead of buying vertical SaaS.
One way to support this hypothesis is to lean more into AI infrastructure + hardware and build for developers. I think this is a good direction. The idea is to build robust infrastructure for developers first and then it'll naturally flow over to other verticals.
Another way to approach this might be just to build the software and infrastructure that will let businesses develop their own internal software, much like Retell with voice inbound lead capture agents. Few things to know beforehand though:
1. What internal software are businesses/dtc/home services currently using? Retell automated away customer support inbound lead capture, but what else could we build?
2. Why or why aren't traditional businesses building their own internal tooling instead of buying vertical SaaS? Is there a structural reason or distribution reason?
I think going to them in person and learning this could be very helpful (and at least we'll be moving forward). Push forward, and we'll figure something out.
